Treatment of allergy via sublingual administration

The sublingual route is an effective alternative to the subcutaneous route, and allows improved patient acceptance of immunotherapy.

A few drops of solution containing the allergen(s) are placed and retained beneath the tongue for 2-3 minutes, until fully absorbed.

The main advantage of the sublingual route is its convenience, since it can be used at home without the need for clinical help and without having to visit the clinic to continue treatment.
